Romans
12:2 Do not conform any longer to the
pattern of this world, but be transformed
by the renewing of your mind. Then you
will be able to test and approve what
God's will is -his good, pleasing and
perfect will.

At UGM, we seek to help those troubled
with addictions and alcoholism to
not only rehabilitate themselves
physically, but to transform themselves
spiritually. Many approaches to
controlling these problems emphasize
control. Too often, people become
“dry drunks,” waiting
to use again when life’s pressures
become too much.
We believe that God offers transformation,
the ability to truly change and
no longer be held hostage by an
addiction. Our therapy involves
physical, mental and spiritual support
that helps men find a real, lasting
answer to their problems, and a
support community to help them restart
their lives.

Our regime is strict, but it is born
of compassion. For the first 30 days in
the program, men are not allowed to leave
the Mission. This blackout period is a
time of probation to determine the candidate’s
commitment and ability to benefit from
treatment. Men are assigned responsibilities,
attend classes and make a clean break
with the past.
After 30 days, successful candidates
are granted a green badge. These men can
leave the mission on their day off from
9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
At the 6-month point, we hold a mini-graduation.
After graduating, men are eligible to
earn a blue badge that allows them to
leave the mission at 6:00 am and return
by 6:00 pm. In addition for completing
his 6 months, a man must have successfully
completed a Christ-based 12-step program,
a healing anger class and a series of
Bible classes. Men are encouraged to seek
out a home church, and in may cases we
are able to assist them with vocational
training, housing,
job placement and other factors critical
to their long-term success.
