A former boys’ ranch, this specialized facility offered
hope for a critical challenge: transitioning graduates of
our program back into society.
Today, men who enter the Union Gospel drug
and rehabilitation program live on-site for nine months.
For them, Eagles Nest Ranch is a protective refuge, away
from the old haunts and acquaintances that are often the
biggest obstructions to their continued rehabilitation.
Eagles Nest Ranch provides a serene country setting where
men can live and transition back into society without coming
into contact with temptations and influences that all too
often result in recidivism. It’s a place where men
can come together, learn new skills, continue educational
pursuits, enroll in vocational training, and
enjoy life without the crippling effects of drugs and alcohol
for the first time.
For many, living on the ranch is their first experience
at living a rural life. Because it is a working ranch, it
can be the steadiest employment participants have had in
years. All men are required to contribute, as well as participate
in counseling and Bible study.

Eagles Nest has a wide assortment of animals and
activities. Horses, goats, chickens, cattle, pigs
and a large garden consume much time, and the learning
process for these men is never ending. Here the rule
is early to bed and early to rise, and a whole new
regimen of learning takes place.
Counselors work with each man as an individual to
determine what vocation best suits him. Room and board
is free, and the Union Gospel Mission provides the
funds necessary for continued college and vocational
training.
Without this unique facility, many men would never
have the opportunity to experience such a place of
peace and earn a second start.

Only though the loving care and support of our faithful
donors can the Union Gospel Mission provide this wonderful
opportunity for men to experience the beauty of Gods creation,
and perhaps for the first time become a useful member of
society.
Each year the Mission hosts an open house day at the ranch,
providing an opportunity for neighbors and donor’s
to see ongoing work and meet some of our enthusiastic graduates.
Please see the calendar of events
section of the web site for the date of our next open house.
We hope to see you there!
