Our Women’s Clothing Closet Gets a Makeover!
Sabrina Charles, our Women’s Outreach Coordinator, decided it was time for a facelift and bring bright and cheerful colors to the walls, rearrange the clothing racks for more spaciousness for women to shop and be ministered to! The closet has never looked so good with lots of beautiful hearts who donate and volunteer.
Susan’s Testimony of God’s Amazing Love
Susan (pictured above with her children), has been coming to the Women’s Clothing Closet for over 10 years. In the beginning, she would come almost every Tuesday and Thursday for just for the Bible Studies and then monthly for the clothing and items. It truly transformed her life! She was always inspired, encouraged, and learned to read the Word for herself. She felt a close connection to the staff, volunteers, and even bonded with the other women who came. She thanks God and is truly grateful to the Mission for all the support and care that she and her children received.
Prior to Susan’s arrival, she made a lot of bad choices with alcohol, drugs, and a bad relationship. It resulted in a point of one day being completely alone, without a job or a home. After that day, she knew she wanted to clean up her life and be with her children. It was then that she found rehabilitation along with help at the Mission.
It has been a long road of recovery, and life still has its many challenges, but she is still much happier than she has ever been. She is currently at Sacramento State getting a degree in Gerontology and hopes to be a Nurse one day.
Volunteers Needed
Tuesdays and Thursdays our Women’s Clothing Closet is busy with women and children getting items they need. Our unique closet offers clothing and accessories for free and by caring volunteers who share the love of Christ and the hope in Him. On Mondays and Wednesdays, our team of volunteers prepares all the goodness that we are able to stock up from generous donations.
If you are interested in joining our team of volunteers, please pray for the Lord’s direction. We will work with you based on your availability – one day a week to one day a month.
