Union Gospel Mission serves thousands of meals per month to men, women, and children who are homeless and to the less fortunate. Please join us each evening for chapel at 7:30 PM and dinner at 8:30 PM.

If you have a family or an individual with a residence, please follow the below instructions to receive a food box:

Weekly Food Box Pickup and Guidelines:

  • To sign up, call (916) 447-3268 during regular business hours: Mon – Thurs, 8 AM–4 PM (closed 12–1 PM) Friday, 9 AM–12 PM.
    • Call by 11:30 AM on the day of pick-up to request a food box. Please note that requests must be made the same week; food boxes cannot be reserved in advance.
  • You can receive one food box per household every 30 days.
  • Pickup times are Tuesdays and Thursdays, beginning at 1:00 PM and ending at 3:00 PM.
  • You must bring your picture ID, proof of residence, and your current address, such as a utility bill.
  • If a food box is not picked up on the scheduled day, it will be forfeited for that month.
  • (NOTE) Holiday Food Box Programs will vary from this schedule, and sign-ups are typically the first of the month (See Holiday Food Boxes).

You must call and sign up for your box for the above dates. Call early as it is first-come, first-served. If you miss Thanksgiving, you can sign up for Christmas. You can sign up for either Holiday but not both.

Day of Giveaway

To pick up your Holiday Food Box, check-in starts promptly at 12:30 PM, and the gate closes at 1:00 PM. There will be a 30-minute Chapel Service, and the food boxes will be given away afterward.
