New Life Program

About The Program

We exist to MEET people’s practical needs, TRAIN biblically, and SEND transformed lives.

Our New Life Program has been changing lives since 1962.

Our approach involves physical, mental, and spiritual support to help you find a real and lasting answer to your most profound issues. New candidates must meet the following requirements:

• You must apply in person. Monday – Thursday, 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
• Have a valid photo ID and current negative TB Clearance
• Must be willing to enter the program immediately if accepted

The New Life Program begins with a 30-day probationary period in which applicants are restricted to the Mission campus with exceptions for medical emergencies, court, and parole requirements.

Upon successful completion of the probationary period, candidates will proceed to:

• Proven biblical method to change hearts and be freed from addiction
• Customized curriculum engaging each individual with the Gospel, doctrine, and practical theology
• Classes consisting of essential subjects: God, Bible, Man, and the Gospel
• Weekly biblical counseling and discipleship
• Assigned roles to partner with UGM in serving the homeless community
• Aftercare Support: Job readiness, financial stewardship, church membership, and a biblical worldview

UGM Graduates

Our chaplain team works with the men at a certain benchmark of their program, typically six months, to prepare them to receive vocational training at one of several centers around town. This provides these men the skills that will allow them to re-enter society, hold a job, and give them the opportunity to give back to those who have given them a second chance to have a better life; to now serve instead of being served.

We also try to take full advantage of the volunteers who have indicated they are willing to donate their professional skills and/or services to impart their knowledge to our program graduates. This program is all about giving these men a valuable skill set that will help them set off on their new life as productive members of society.

Once one of our men graduates from the New Life Program, we do not push them out into the world as some sort of test of their hard-won sobriety. Typically, they learn additional skills that help them re-acclimate to a normal life or move to Redemption House when they get a job or enroll in school.

We have an ongoing relationship with these men. When our experience tells us that they are ready to cope with the outside world and all of the influences that affected them in the past, we take steps towards getting them employed, both by providing vocational training and reaching out to our network of companies who have employed program graduates in the past.
