(for wheelchairs)
Our chapel is being renovated, and our redesign includes a new stage where churches will gather to preach the good news, sing songs of praise, and share testimonies with our guests every night. It is our desire to install a handicap wheelchair lift so that people of all physical abilities are able to serve and proclaim God’s grace.
Will you consider donating towards our $40,000 goal to pay for this ADA compliant equipment, partnering with us to further proclaim the Gospel to those we serve?
Where we started…
The Union Gospel Mission began in Old Sacramento in 1962. By 1967, UGM purchased this property to expand and better serve the needs of the people of Sacramento.
Used 365 nights a year since 1967, our chapel and dining room haven’t been remodeled since their construction.
But now, because of our God’s provision through the faithful generosity of our partners, the Dining Room renovation is complete and the Chapel is next. We’ll keep the bottom of this page updated with photos as we proceed in the process!
Phase 1
Where we are…
It happened! Our Dining Room is open and serving our guests! Decades of history has brought us to this point, and we are thrilled to welcome our neighbors into a bright, clean space where they can eat a good meal, experience compassion, and hear the saving message of the gospel.
So much time, effort, and generosity has gone into bringing this renovation to this point.

Phase 2
Where we’re going…
The chapel is now under construction and off limits, but we got a glimpse inside before the whole room was stripped to the studs. (See pictures below.)
We’re ahead of schedule currently, and we’ll show you inside as soon as the caution tape is gone!
Both chapel services and dinner are happening in our new Dining Room, meaning not a day will be missed of feeding the hungry and preaching the Gospel here at Union Gospel Mission.
Stay tuned for more!

The Mission will STAY on mission even in the midst of construction. We’ll utilize one room at a time while the remodel is underway, ensuring that not a single meal will be missed, and not a single night will pass without the declaration of the hope of the Gospel.
