Winter Warming Center

Our Winter Warming Center operates seasonally from November through February, providing a safe, warm place for individuals experiencing homelessness to get out of the rain and cold. This ministry saves lives.

Even when other winter shelters close due to budget cuts, the need does not disappear. People are still exposed to dangerous winter conditions, and many die on the streets each year – often without public notice. Here at the Mission, we see the need firsthand and respond with compassion.

Winter Warming Center Schedule (when open):
November through February
7 days a week | 10:00 PM – 5:00 AM

Guests are welcome to attend Chapel Service at 7:30 PM, followed by dinner at 8:30 PM.

For the safety of everyone, no smoking, drinking, or profanity is permitted on Mission grounds. All rules must be observed.

NOTICE

The Winter Warming Center is currently closed and will reopen in November 2026.

Men's New Life Program

Romans 12:2
Do not be conformed to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—His good, pleasing, and perfect will.

At Union Gospel Mission, we walk alongside men struggling with addiction and alcoholism – not only to pursue physical recovery, but to experience true spiritual transformation. Many approaches focus solely on behavior control, which can leave people merely “dry,” still bound internally and vulnerable when life’s pressures mount.

We believe God offers something far greater: genuine transformation – the power to change from the inside out and to be freed from the chains of addiction. Our program provides integrated physical, mental, and spiritual support, helping men discover lasting answers and rebuild their lives within a caring community. This work is strengthened through partnerships with more than 31 churches across the Sacramento area.

Our program is structured and disciplined, but always rooted in compassion and hope.
