Annual Street Fair

Join us in blessing our homeless and low-income neighbors with a day of encouragement and joy! We’ll be serving delicious food, playing carnival games, offering haircuts and manicures, giving away gifts, treats, and clothing, and lifting our voices in worship with a live band.

With an average of 400 attendees, we need many volunteers to make this day memorable! Opportunities to serve include setup, greeting, food and drink service, running games, distributing clothing, and helping with giveaways and cleanup. Volunteers should arrive at 8 AM for setup and stay after 2:30 PM for tear-down and cleanup.

Consider sponsoring a booth to provide haircuts and manicures, or offer prayer. Other creative ideas are welcome!

This special event will be held right here at Union Gospel Mission.

This ministry is a true outpouring of love, inspired by the dedication and hearts of Ted and Dee Burdine, who began this mission 27 years ago. Their commitment continues to be a blessing, as they mobilize the community to contribute time, funds, and resources, making this impactful event possible.

In 2019, we had the honor of presenting Ted and Dee with the Good Samaritan Award. Ted and Dee have been serving the Mission for 27 years with Christmas to the Streets which has blessed the poor and the homeless community. We are very thankful for their years of dedication to the work of the gospel!

If you are interested in serving in any capacity, please contact Eileen at (916) 447-3268 or info@ugmsac.com

    Good Mornings
My daughters and I would like be volunteers..Also do you ,or know any resources on thanks giving basket as well even any holiday relief for my 5 children

    • If it were “regular” times, I would have a lot more opportunities to discuss with you, however, this pandemic has caused us to make a lot of modifications that have inhibited our services and with volunteers.

So we are sorry we have no opportunities this year. We will have sign-ups for Christmas Food baskets starting tomorrow at 8:00 am. You will need to call to sign up. Leaving a voice mail will not work. Keep calling till you get through.
