Pray For Emilie

Emilie resides on Bannon Street, near the entrance of Union Gospel Mission. While sitting with her on the curb one afternoon, she shared engaging stories of her daily hardships, fears, and sorrows. I was saddened to hear that she felt no hope during this time in her life. Although Emilie has not (yet) attended our Thursday morning Women’s Clothing Closet bible study, she has come back three weeks to sit with me and chat. I have been able to share the Gospel and pray over her life each time.

Emilie

This last week she showed up not needing anything but a kind word.  She expressed to me, “I have dug a hole so big I can’t get out.”  I asked her to sit and talk more, but this time she refused and stumbled back to the sidewalk where she would pass the time.

Please pray for Emilie, who needs help out of homelessness.  She has heard about the saving grace of Jesus Christ and resources for shelter but continues to lie only footsteps away from help.  Pray for the chains holding her in her sins and that God reaches through the mental illness caused by addiction and exposure and gives her new life.

Please, also, pray for volunteers in our Women’s Clothing Closet who desire to share the hope found in Christ to all who come through our door.
